Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Guard Game Video

Here is a video that shows the guard game that we do during each class. I know many other schools do this also so if you were wondering what it is now you know. Basically the purpose of the guard game is to develop two important aspects of your game in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Guard Passing & Working from the guard. These two areas are worked on heavily because they are really the two postions you are in the most.

OK, I don't get it. 50 seconds into this, the guy looks like he is going for a leg lock. The guy on bottom tips him over, and the guy that was trying to pass all of a sudden gives up and stops moving? He gives the guy side control, and doesn't even fight the armbar??

Im guessing it was because they aren't used to playing the same game. In our class when we do the guard game the guy on his back has to stay on his back. If he comes to his knees or his feet he has to do 100 pushups. The game is designed for simply working the guard pass and guard submissions and sweeps, its not full on sparring.
