Mario Sperry Master Series 1 and 2

I just finished watching the Mario Sperry Master Series DVD's and they are excellent. They are a little above my head at this point but are still worth while. Being above my head doesnt mean I cant use the moves, the moves are actually pretty simple but the why for using the moves is above my head as I dont have a firm grasp of all the basics yet. For example Mario points out that he didnt do a (insert basic move of choice) because an opponenet at his level would see that coming and could easily be countered. I hardly know the basic move let alone the counter at this point. I am hoping the Pedro Carvalho series one dvds will fill this gap. I probably should have started with those but oh well. The complete set of 12 dvds is a must in my opinion though. I thought the first series alone left too much out to be a full game plan. The first set of 6 dvds doesnt cover guard passing and the half guard like the second set did. Therefore if you plan on getting these DVDs I would get all 12 as they are of excellent production quality and in my opionion helped me getter a better overall picture off BJJ. The tapes helped me start to see the overall game plan instead of just a bunch of isolated moves.

Saulo Ribeiro

Well I am still too sore to attend class which really sucks cause I missed a seminar at the school with Saulo Ribeiro. Whom I didnt know who was until now, but he is a 6 time Gold Medalist at the World BJJ championships 1996, 97, 98, 99, 2000, 2002. So it would have been a great opportunity to participate in it but I still cant even do situps let alone roll in class.
